Board Meeting Notes

November 8, 2007

 

Mrs. Sue Helms, President, called the meeting of the Madison City Board of Education to order at 5:00 P.M. in the board room at the Teacher Resource Center. A work session was held immediately following the Board meeting.

 

Members of the public asked the Board questions regarding parking at Discovery Middle School and tax issues related to Limestone County.

 

Mrs. Kathy Rains, Director of Technology, presented information concerning Madison City School’s procedures for the Children’s Internet Protection Act. 

 

The Board approved minutes from the meeting held on October 30, 2007. The Board also approved September 2007 financial statements, an architectural agreement, and personnel actions.

 

Dr. Fowler presented the following policies for a first reading to be revised: JGFF – Parking Privileges and Vehicle Use; and JH – Academics First.

 

Announcements:

  • Dr. Fowler announced that the Calendar Committee will make a presentation to the Board on November 29, 2007.  Alabama Association of School Boards All-State Board Member of the Year.

The next board meeting was scheduled for November 29, 2007, at 5:00 P.M. in the board room at the Teacher Resource Center.
