Board Meeting Notes
August 10, 2006
Mrs. Sue Helms, president, called the meeting of the Madison City Board of Education to order at 5:00 P.M. in the board room at the Teacher Resource Center and Central Office.
Mr. David Smith, Interim Chief Financial Officer, and Mrs. Teresa Hill, Custodian of Funds, presented information to the Board and public concerning the school systemís budget for the 2007 school year.
The Board approved minutes from the meeting held on August 3, 2006. The Board also approved the Madison City School System 2007 Budget, a roofing settlement with Turner-Universal, the 2006-2007 Madison City Schools salary schedule for school system employees, and personnel actions.
Dr. Clara Toney, Resource Specialist for Instruction, presented information concerning student test scores from the previous school year. Dr. Toney discussed various charts and graphs that depicted student scores with correlating grade levels. Dr. Toney stated that all schools made Annually Yearly Progress (AYP) and should be applauded for their hard work.
The Board chose Harold Webb and Associates to conduct the search for the new superintendent for the Madison City Schools.
